A magnificent, massive, and invaluable piece of furniture. Exceptional craftsmanship.
After the model by CHARLES CRESSENT (French 1685-1768), A REGENCY Style BELLE ÉPOQUE Period bureau desk. Early 20th Century
Elaborate ormolu mounts with tightly bound mounts to the leather inset shaped top. It has three front drawers that open and false drawers to the other side. Cabriole legs with figural caryatid capitals and scrolling sabots at the bottom of the legs.
The plat has been restored and it is in exceptional good overall condition. It is structurally sound throughout and very heavy. Original key locks all three front drawers.
