This lovely gold framed watercolor print images presents a botanical flowers and butterflies scene in delicate pastels by artist Mary Vincent Bertrand.
Measuring 15 1/2” Tall x 13 1/2” Wide x 3/4” Thick. The artwork is set in a leafed gold frame, double matted in a cream silk top mat with a pink slate accent mat. The image size is 13 1/2” Tall x 11 1/2” Wide. The print is signed and numbered 1194/1900.
Louisiana-based artist of French descent, Mary Vincent Bertrand calls upon early background and familiarity with Acadian scenery to depict the bayous, moss-covered oaks and wild flowers, which have become part of her own impressionistic style of painting. She captures nature in an individual, hazy fashion giving her work the characteristic touch she has developed.
This artwork would enhance a French country, coastal, shabby chic or contemporary decor.
