The plate is known as "Repeat … Read more A fantastic mid-century modern dish or plate made by the talented by Janet Leach. The plate is known as "Repeat ware" from St. Ives, England. Janet Leach is often described as one of the leading potters of the second half of the twentieth century from St Ives. The Leach Pottery produced some groundbreaking design and techniques, one can see that her work was fiercely independent, as a potter her work has a powerful identity and always had a sculptural form, making her work unique art objects. This little plate has a fantastic shape, simple, yet it is the glazing that makes it so special, it is a combination of tenmoku glaze cross with an ash glazed rim. As most of her work this has muted colors grey wtih speckled effect as well as a roast brown edge. It is Stamped at the base with the artists seal & The Leach pottery St Ives seal as well as the original tag.

It is 3.5cm high and 13cm in a square form (1.37" & 5.11") It is overall of a very good condition. Yet note that there is a mini hairline crack underneath the plate from the production, (hardley noticeable and reflected in the price) nevertheless is this still a fantastic and unique piece from the talented artist.
