A beautiful handmade crystal glass vase. Circa 1960s.
The traditional craft of glassblowing and glass cutting turns crystal glass into a sophisticated object characterised by clarity and brilliance as lead crystal has stronger light refraction properties than conventional glass.
It traditionally comes from the area of the Bohemian Forest massif with its quartz deposits in the border region between Bavaria and the Czech Republic. Lead crystal is still produced today in the "Bayrischer Wald" (Bavarian Forest) and the "Oberpfälzer Wald" (Upper Palatinate Forest).
