Offered is a hand-colored Vue D’optique engraving. This was a popular form of entertainment in Europe in the 18th century where-in the prints were to be viewed with an “optical machine” - a lens used to magnify and create three dimensional depth.
The print captures a view of Westminster Palace prior to the fire of 1834 which transformed it into the Houses of Parliament as they exist today.
