This production period was for … more C.1950-59, Vintage and Original Hans Wegner, (Designer) for A.P. Stolen, (Manufacturer), "Papa Bear," Chair, Denmark. This production period was for the first phase and/or roll-out of this wonderful, and iconic, club chair by Wegner. It had some production issues, and therefore had gone out of production until C.1980s. with today's exclusivity of current manufacture, Fritz Hansen. This club chair was refurbished, by the Dealer who sourced this chair in Europe, for it's originality. The Dealer chose to maintain the frame's authentic finish, along with the handwritten or scribed detail, on the underside frame edge, by the manufacture, as image indicates. and written is the European numerical system of numbering of, 26 over 7, (26/7), and the year written adjacent to this 55. which was left as an additional provenance and period setting, to date and maintain that age and provenance. The upholstery as stated, has handsome, tailored, gentlemen's tweed textile of a Maharam Wool with defined, sectioned, channel and button tufted details, defined in the most conducive area one's back side rests upon for comfort and absorbing that comfort, BUT with a defined, design grid esthetic at that, in that uniformity. Along with that there are self welted details throughout. While the arms have an exposed wood end, at the hand rest section, much like a "peek=a-boo," experience, but also indicative and a double entendre to the bears' paws, and a throwback which, and upon one's hands rest upon. Delightful, whimsical and sophisticated aha moments of intelligence and thought of mind, as the process of designing this chair was as intrinsic, to the model, function, and overall look, beyond the comfort. The exposed, slanted legs have the original and intended finish, with chrome foot bumpers also original. Back rest is curved with heightened or accentuated tipped corner, while the seat is web based, with the seat /cushion removable
