Offered is an antique, hand-colored aquatint engraving entitled "A North East View of the new General Post Office With the Royal Mails preparing to Start London With the Royal Mails (& Carts) preparing to Start”. It was published by Messers Fores at their Sporting and Fine print Repository at 41 Piccadilly.

James Pollard (1792-1867) The son of the engraver Robert Pollard, he began painting as a young man and soon his coaching scenes gained popularity. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the British Institution.
