The center lid by Hilliard and Thomason dated 1884; the base Barnard and Sons dated 1876. Retains its lids and glass inserts. Multiple sterling hallmarks on base, inkwells, and center lid on the nibs compartment. Well executed neoclassical features such as flame finials, gadrooned edges, and paw feet. In very good condition with no repairs. The lids have slight dings and imperfections, and one of the glass insert has edge chipping. Measures 11"wide X 7.5"deep X 5.5"high. Weighs about 35 ounces.
