Georges Rouault (French, 1871-1958) limited edition colored Aquatint of Still Life with Floral Vase.
Rustic carved wood frame measures 34" x 26 1/2", print measures 22 1/2" x 15". Limited edition 76/175 noted at lower left. Signed in plate.
As found on Rouault: Georges Rouault occupies a unique place amongst twentieth century artists. Although a contemporary of Cubism, Expressionism and Fauvism, he never formally associated himself with any of these movements. Often considered a religious painter, he was, above all else, independent. He did not find his inspiration in the abstract, but rather in the realities of everyday life and in an authentic spirituality.
