Take a peek at this lovely-to-look-at Vietnamese rattan and silk sewing basket! The double walled handwoven rattan basket has an interior lush silk textile lining in a dusty turquoise blue hue with assorted golden thread Asian symbols adorning the background. A corded drawstring top allows you gather up the lining in a pouf manner and tie, allowing you to pick up and carry the basket. This beauty measures 12” x 12” x 6½” W/D/H; height when lining is tied and lifted up adds an additional 5”to the height. The interior measures 9¾” x 9¾” x 6” W/D/H; weight 9 oz. Although handcrafted in Vietnam, the handwoven double-wall construction mimics the artistry of a Japanese muso-ami weave basket which is woven from strips of bamboo which highlight the natural beauty and simplicity of bamboo. Colors of the basket are naturally aged bamboo in a pale to mid-tone wheat hue. In excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. There is a textile label sewn on the interior lining and a paper label stating “Made in Vietnam” though it is unsigned by any artisan or maker. For a collector of unique baskets, this beauty will be a great add to that collection or the perfect gift for someone who is.
