The color etching offers an early 20th century Parisian street vue of the Boulevard de La Madeleine with pedestrians and period cars set against the backdrop of the Madeleine Church.

Born in Ptuj, Slovenia, to a family of artists, he studied at the Vienna Academy of Art under William Unger. There he learned the art of color etching, later developing his own technique using multiple color plates.
