Statue … Read more C.1875-1910; A rare cast metal patented statue of Athena, (Greek), or Minerva, (Roman) that has a bronze brown finish. Statue is on a black, round cast iron base, newly refinished, with black felted base bottom, and removable staff, as well as a fan held on the other hand. A Classical, wet drapery design esthetic was implemented when producing this piece. Some weathering to patina on female, a crack or chip to back area of scarf is evident, as well as backside draped cape toward's bottom.

Piece was found, and was so special we had a good metalsmith put the figure back on base, as a section of figure had completely broken off towards bottom. The weathered patina, and newly refinished base are a timeless reminder of another period of history and myths. See less
