What a fabulous statement piece! This handmade, vibrant and sculptural mid-century Italian ceramic footed bowl is labeled “Florentine Original.” It features an expressive, hand-painted abstract design of a fish on turquoise, green, orange, yellow, and black over a textured, lava-style glaze. The wide form is accented with ringed side handles, and sits on a stable pedestal foot—typical of 1950s–60s Italian modernist decor.
The bowl's material and handmade quality showcase the superb craftsmanship of the era, reminiscent of Bitossi pottery. The colorful design, style, and production are hallmarks of mid-century modern art pottery, making it an instant conversation starter for any collector.
