This pair of original pieces features a rope seat and back with the original corded nylon rope and ebonized beechwood frame. Its original metal label is intact. Its light yet super-sturdy build comes from its construction using tension and compression and hidden, glueless Japanese joinery. These chairs make a statement. The artistry with the routing of the single length of rope for each chair makes them a conversation starter.

These chairs would look amazing in a Mid-Century Modern or Asian-influenced context. While they are fairly small and low to the ground, they stand out precisely because they are so unique. Note: The cushions pictured can be provided with the chairs. They are not made by Maruni.
