It was used as a fireplace mirror when … Read more This giltwood framed mirror came from an upscale estate in southern Virginia. It was used as a fireplace mirror when we found it, but it would be equally perfect as a wall mirror in an entry hall, bedroom, or wherever. It is solid wood, and it is embellished with carved wood representations of a phoenix standing in front of a pagoda silhouette and flanked on both right and left by dragons. We believe that the mirror is approximately 50 years old. Because the mirror is solid wood rather than fragile gesso or plaster, it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flaws, or imperfections. Please note that the solid wood frame makes the mirror relatively heavy at over 20 pounds. The mirror measures 57 inches tall at the crest (the top of the pagoda); it is 29 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Please take a good look at the photos as the photos seem to show the giltwood as different shades of gold under differing lighting conditions. In reality, the gold is a uniform color. See less
