Crafted in France circa 1920, each decorative candleholder features a beautifully hand-painted ceramic parrot perched on a sculptural tree trunk embellished with delicate flowers and foliage.

The exotic birds are finely detailed with textured feathers, partially extended wings, long sweeping tails, and expressive faces. Their vibrant green and yellow plumage is accented with turquoise blue around the eyes and soft pink beaks, creating a lively and colorful composition. The tree trunk supports are decorated with raised floral motifs in shades of pink, yellow, and green, enhancing the naturalistic character of the design.

Each parrot rests on an ornate gilt bronze base featuring pierced scrollwork, acanthus leaves, and shell motifs in the Louis XV taste. Above the birds, decorative bronze candle cups with fluted detailing and scalloped rims complete the composition. The combination of colorful glazed faience and richly patinated bronze gives these candlesticks a distinctive decorative appeal.

Both antique candlesticks are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining their vibrant original colors and beautifully detailed bronze mounts. Each bears a stamped mark on the underside. A charming addition to a mantel, bookshelf, or dining room buffet.
