Adorned with the "Long Bridge" pattern, a Chinese-inspired design including pagoda temples, bridges, boats, figures, and elaborate borders. Notably, this same lozenge shape, with a center indentation and similar proportions, was crafted by both Worcester and Caughley. Examples of this shape with different decorations from both makers can be found in the Victoria & Albert ceramics collection. The crescent shape mark on the underside was also used by both makers. The crossover between Worcester and Caughley is attributed to Caughley's founder, Thomas Turner, who apprenticed at Worcester and brought key Worcester workers to Caughley. Both dishes come equipped with sturdy, hand-made early hanging wires, making them ready to display. This wonderful matching pair is ideal for a symmetrical arrangement, enhancing the charm of a traditional English interior. It also serves as a fantastic gift for a milestone celebration.
