Pair antique botanical engravings from Abraham Munting "Naauwkeurige Beschryving Der Aardgewassen" (Accurate Description Of The Earth's Crops) first published posthumously in 1696. Abraham Munting (1626 - 1683) was a Dutch botanist and artist. He was professor of Botany and Chemistry at the University of Groningenan. Professor Munting also oversaw Groningenan's first Botanical Garden created by his father Henricus Munting (1583-1658), referred to as ‘The Paradise of Groningen,’ and renowned throughout Europe. The engravings are inscribed with Latin names as follows:
