The design was described by Steuben as being formed using a technique popularized by founder Frederick Carder, with curves suggesting the folds of a handkerchief pulled from a pocket. Because each vase is individually hand formed, no two are exactly alike.

Its sculptural shape works beautifully with a range of interiors, including traditional, transitional, modernist, contemporary, and collected interiors. A single stem or small arrangement of cut flowers would complement its open, fluid form, while its clear glass construction also makes it attractive displayed empty as a small decorative object. It would work well on a side table, dresser, console, bookshelf, mantel, or alongside other art glass and decorative objects.

An appealing piece for collectors of Steuben glass, admirers of American art glass, and those who appreciate beautifully made sculptural objects with a clean, understated presence.
