Exquisite antique silk work embroidery depicting a young lady riding a donkey while holding a basket of fruit. Perfect for enhancing a needlework picture or sampler collection, it also makes a thoughtful gift for embroidery enthusiasts.

The design is after "Country Girl of Tuscany" by English painter James Northcote (1746-1831) and the subsequent stipple engraving by French engraver Thomas Gaugain (1748-1810).

It arrives ready to display in an elegant antique gilt wood frame, complemented by an eglomise (reverse painted glass) black mat with gilt accents. Photographed through glass which explains reflections. In very good condition with minor imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
