Architectural engraving from the "Recueil et Parallèle des Edifices," depicting floor plan of Roman baths by Jean-Nicholas-Louis Durand (1760-1834), 1800. An important figure in Neoclassicism, Durand developed a system of design using simple modular elements that anticipated modern industrialized building components, as depicted in this engraving.
Original artwork on paper displayed on a white mat with a gold border. Mat fits a standard-size frame. Archival plastic sleeve and Certificate of Authenticity included. Artwork, 16”H x 23.75"W; mat, 24”H x 30"W.
