Watteau Series - Minton's China Works:
Inspired by the romantic art of the French rococo artist Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684-1721), this is one of twelve different scenes in this series, which was given the factory pattern number 12, thus it is one of the first Minton pictorial tile series. Introduced about 1845 it was still in production in 1885
