This is an antique French Art Deco lithograph by the iconic George Barbier (1882-1932) that dates to 1912. Barbier is known as one of the leading illustrators of the 20th century. He is best known for his theater and costume designs, book illustrations, and haute couture fashion designs. He illustrated for the prestigious Ballet Russes, the Gazette de Bon Ton, and the Folles Bergere. His works are highly collectible and often sold at major auction houses worldwide. His works are classic and highly recognizable. They are captivating, romantic, and seductive. They are fashionable, flamboyant and quite exotic. Beware, as they are very frequently reproduced today! This image is original to 1912. It appeared as an illustration in a French magazine dating to 1912. It is NOT a recent reproduction print. It is NOT a book plate. Entitled "Egle ou le Bel Apres-midi", it showcases a young woman with her parasol in a blossoming garden. Note the rich warm color tones of the print.
