Tapered vase form with stylized birds in green, rust and orange on black ground with matte glaze. Hole in bottom so that it may be made into a lamp, but equally impressive as a decorative piece of pottery. Maker's mark to underside with M.A.&S. original label. In very good condition with minor surface wear and scuffs. Circa 1955-1970.
German-born artist Marianne Starck (1938–2007) was one of Denmark’s leading ceramic designers in the 20th century. She is most known for her time with the Michael Andersen & Son factory from 1955-1993.
