Set of four rare original period antique prints of watercolor portraits of Baron Alfred Milner (First Viscount, British statesman and colonial administrator, whose inflexible diplomacy helped cause the Second Boer War, 1899–1902) by Mortimer Menpes, created by Mortimer Menpes himself. Published in England, 1901. Plates have gold-leaf top edges and come with original title pages. There are 4 original prints in the set, each comes with title page. Total eight pieces. Dimensions are for each piece. Excellent condition - never framed.
Mortimer Luddington Menpes (1855-1938), was an Australian-born artist, author, printmaker and illustrator, interior designer, member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and Royal Institute of Oil Painter.
