Very striking large bald eagle statue by Freeman & McFarlin Potteries of California, made in El Monte, CA somewhere between 1950-1969 or so. It is signed on the bottom by Anthony Freeman, with the number 103, and even has the original Freeman & McFarlin sticker on the bottom.
The piece is an overall matte brown, with a beautiful shiny crackle glazing on the head, beak, and claws. The beak and claws are a deep vibrant golden color. The sculpt has a lot of character and really stands out. I have some other animal pieces by this company and they have a lot of personality.
This regal sculpture would look great in a library or an office, and is in great vintage condition with a small amount of glazing chipped off of one claw, as shown in photos, but that can only be seen when looking from underneath. Add this guy to your collection today!
