The surface of the object is glazed and painted. The upper part is green, smoothly turns into white in the lower part. This effect was obtained thanks to the use of the color grading technique. The surface of the jug is decorated with a plastic rocaille ornament, which is emphasized by subtle gilding. Decoration focused on the upper part of the belly and the handle.

The rocaille ornament is characteristic of the 18th century ornamentation. This ornament was closely related to rococo art. Its shape was to resemble shells, and at a later stage, forms resembling rooster combs or manes of sea waves were added
