Dimensions 9" x 12". The paper with full margins measures 12.5" x 18.5".
Good antique condition. This will look when properly matted and framed.
A very nice find.
Etching with aquatint from a volume of 46 plates showing different views in Egypt. Little is known about Luigi Mayer, who had studied in Rome under Piranesi.
The aquatints produced from Mayer’s original images were executed by Thomas Milton, great-nephew of John Milton, who specialized in the printing and engraving of topographical works.
