Their names are: Izanami (‘she who invites’) and Izanagi (‘he who invites’). The myths of Japanese popular religion derive from oral traditions codified for posterity in The Kojiki written by an official of the Empress Gemmyo between 708 and 714 CE.
Fan has fractions of the Kojiki written, in the “dragon”-style calligraphy on front and back.

Made of paper, hand-drawn and written in black ink. All handmade.
Wood frame.
Size: 10.25 inches (26 cm) x 17.5 inches (44 cm).

Condition: The item is in excellent condition for age. Some foxing inherent with age is visible, along with slight discoloration.
