Antique chronometer, with original wooden case.
This timepiece was used in racing pigeon races.
Equipped with a clockwork mechanism which, once wound, rotated a disc or timekeeping chain: when the bird passed by, a punching mechanism was triggered which stamped the time on the disc, precisely declaring the winner. Belgian manufacture, 1950s.
