Mark's square. Pauly's exhibition of signoretto's translation of de marchi was set up in st. Mark's square in venice, april 2000. As i photographed and published this announcement, i paid more attention to the details and pino signoretto's ability to make such an incredible piece. An he is the giant of glassmaking. No one in the past or future will ever be able to approach his virtuosity. In this scultpure he uses one of his favorite glass colors, called opaline chalcedony, to distinguish it from the chalcedony developed by loredano rosin and dino rosin. The ivory color comes from a strong inclusion of silver in the molten glass. That gives an effect of transparency when it is thin and hot worked, and ivory with veining when it is solid and solid. Here pino coated the thin walls with gold leaf. An amazing collaboration between artists of different media, done for pauly. Pauly had a store in st. Mark's square, whenever i was in venice i visited his store. It was divided into two parts, a classical one with traditional murano pieces, the artistic part on the other hand had exciting proposals every time. I saw this sculpture there and admired it very much. No signature. The store label reads ldv (livio de marchi). I tried to catch the details. It is a masterpiece. A collector's piece. See less
