Print of two figures merging by Deborah Rumer (American, 20th Century). Piece is titled (Like a breeze passing...), numbered (Ed100), signed, and dated (© Deborah Rumer c. '97) along the bottom edge in pencil. This piece is an accompaniment to a poem written by Rumer in 1994, a print of which is included with this piece, and reproduced below. Unframed.
Like a Breeze Passing
Like a breeze passing
you pass through me.
Not a hair moves
yet molecules dance
in ancient patterns
a life's romance
with change is kindled
as wisps of feeling merge
into whispers of thought.
Fair floating spirit-
your delicate wanderings
are the cool blue touch
of new ideas.
My breath becomes a prayer
as in this lightness
you pass through me.

Deborah Rumer is an artist from California. She was an instructor of 2D Fine Art at the College of San Mateo for 39 years. Most recently, she held a retrospective show entitled “Seeking Story” at Peninsula Museum of Art in 2018.
