The commode's top is in wonderful antique condition with marquetry designs trimmed in ebonized molding. The case contains three drawers all with meticulously inlaid designs, gilt bronze handles and rounded ebonized escutcheon plates. All locks are in working order and share one key. The interior of the drawers are lined with a rich blue paper, an unexpected contrast to the warm tones of the exterior. The side panels have complementary marquetry designs between the top and front. Gentle curves of the scalloped apron scroll into cabriole legs. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this commode is ready to be enjoyed in your interior.
