This tall vase adopts an uncommon shape made of a square section topped with a curving neck. The front depicts an exquisite scene with four Chinese characters, probably a tea ceremony. The back features a landscape painted in a typical antique Chinese style evoking the Chinese painter Dong Yuan. The sides are adorned with calligraphy, perhaps poems illustrating these paintings.
