Beautiful sosaku kokeshi crafted by artist Kazuo Takamizawa.
Dimensions: height 24 cm, diameter 8 cm.
Very elegant, stylized design.
The kokeshi wears a richly decorated kimono adorned with beautiful hand-painted patterns.
The bottom bears a stamp of the maker.
Craftsman | Woodworker: Takamizawa, Kazuo born in 1927.
Takamizawa-san resides in Maebashi City, in Gunma Prefecture, considered the craft center of modern sosaku Kokeshi dolls. He is a multiple award winner, including the Prime Minister's Award.
