This is a marked Mexican Mid Century Modern (MCM) footed dish made of copper and brass featuring a silver inlaid shrimp. Mexico's silver industry was at its height in the 1950s and produced some of the most iconic jewelry and objects d'arts of the 20th century. Large workshops like Los Castillo dominated the silver industry and inspired small family-run tallers to get in on the action. This piece likely came from one of those small workshops or from a silversmith working by day in a larger taller but producing pieces of his own at night. See less
