An antique original 1810 mezzotint engraving of quail, by Charles Turner (1773-1857) after a painting by his contemporary, J. Barrenger (1780-1831). States "Quails, 10th Plate of the Britifh Feather Game, London, Published Sept. 1, 1810, at R. Ackermann's Repository of Arts, 101 Strand." Beautifully mounted in a contemporary mat set and silver frame.
Charles Turner was a student of the Royal Academy and appointed "Mezzotint Engraver in Ordinary to his Majesty" in 1812.
