This pair possesses a certain allure with their beautiful patina and bold Russian details that will certainly accentuate any mantel or tabletop. The ovoid-shaped stems with graceful blades rise from impressive footed domed bases. The original hand-forged screws are in very good condition and easily allow for disassembly from the bases. There is a slight variation to the top knops and height of the bases as shown, otherwise, they are unpolished and have a uniform patina, and are identical in form. The heavily darkened undersides are indicative of the many years of exposure to burning candles and fireplaces. They are in very good antique condition with normal signs of wear commensurate with age and use. They are indeed very characteristic of Russian quality craftsmanship and design prevalent at the end of the 18th century.

These would make for a most special wedding gift.
