La Boudinière is a French term, primarily used in the context of charcuterie (sausage-making). Le Bas, a renowned French engraver, led the largest engraving workshop in Paris during that era. The culinary engraving is based on the original work of David Teniers II. In this exquisite piece, Le Bas masterfully captures a kitchen. The foreground features the carcass of a hanging pig, positioned in front of a rustic bread oven and a woman tubing sausage while a hungry cat looks on.
