An elegant and exquisitely beautiful 19th century European wooden "cage doll" polychrome Santos, or Madonna figure with original elaborately brocade full length dress. The arms can be moved up and down, the right hand shaped to be holding a staff; the left hand to be holding an orb representing the world or universe. She is very beautiful with a serene and peaceful face.
Condition is overall very good with no paint losses, but has surface dirt and dress has separations, but is very elegant. She is from France, but I purchased her some twenty years ago. Truly unique and beautiful, an artistic and meditative presence in your home.
