But given the … Read more Well it does not look much like what we know about the Roman Emperor Gajus Julius Caesar. But given the inscription to its back Julius - 44 (Caesar died in 44 before Christ) its safe to assume this is a caricature. Its a large bust measuring 40 cm in height. Hand-carved using tools such like wood chisels, small axes and knives. Its a unique piece made in Denmark between 1950-1980 by relatively un-described Aksel Hansen who worked in multiple medias: ceramic, wood and canvas. Measurements: H: 40 cm, W: 16 cm, Dept: 14 cm.
