This elegant … Read more Edward McCartan (1879-1947) was an American sculptor known for his decorative art deco bronzes popular throughout the 1920s. This elegant pair of signed art nude bronzes feature a boy and girl each balanced on a large ball, hoisting a detailed amphora on their shoulders into which a candlestick can be placed. The girl stands slightly taller than the boy, approximately 17 1/4 inches tall compared to the boy's 17 inches, and both bronzes are mounted on a 6 inch diameter round green marble base. A signature of E. McCartan is present on the base of both pieces. Vintage green fabric protects your surfaces, peeling slightly on the boy. Rare and beautiful sculptures with a functional twist!
