Lovely English or New Zealand Majolica Pottery Tobacco Lidded Jar
Faux Bois Style
Marked 'A. Bentley' on the front.
Signed 'W. Speer' on the bottom. William Speer worked at Royal Doulton England. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1921 to be
near his daughter in Greymouth. He worked for a short time at the Gardner Bros. Pottery in New Lynn from 1925. He moved to Brunner and worked with clay until 1932.
