About the Poster: I love slightly mangled translations ... like this one: "While their parents are busy shopping in a department store, Tiennot, who would rather chase girls, buys the complicity of Bébert, his little brother. In the train on the way back home, Tiennot, infuriated by his whims, leaves Bébert in the last car, which happens to be separated from the train and headed in another direction. Panic in the family: where on earth is Bébert? In fact, the little rascal has been taken in by the station master of Verneuil L'Etang, where he has a great time wreaking havoc in the SNCF network. A good-natured inspector is called on the spot and Bébert is finally reunited with his family." (imdb.com)
About the Artist: Raymond Savignac, often just abbreviated to "Savignac", was a French graphic artist famous for his commercial posters. He was born on November 6, 1907 in Paris, and died on October 31, 2002 in Trouville-sur-mer, aged 94. His work is distinguished by a humorous simplicity. Self-taugh, he started designing porsters under Cassandre. A permanent display of his work can be found in the Montebello Museum in Trouville.
This poster was recently linen backed and is in excellent condition. Perfect for a child's room or a home theatre, we love the density of colour and the charm of the illustration. Choo Choo!
