I recently acquired a large collection of New York works that I am offering this week. If you collect views of New York from the early 19th Century through the today, check my store for all the works I am offering. A large majority of the prints come from a major bank corporate collection and were originally purchased at the important New York print and art dealer Donald Heald. They all bear the label of the gallery and are museum archive level matted and framed. Really ready to hang as they are and to be preserved!!! An incredible chance to add a unique piece or a few to your collection. This is one of 3 original Raoul Varin New York vies I am offering. This is a wonderful view up Broadway in early New York. Image measures about 14 3/4 x 21 inches and is in outstanding as printed condition. Signed in pencil lower right. Print might show some faint consistent toning but really a wonderful example. Archival French matte and beautiful gold frame are complimentary and ready to hang. Original Heald gallery label verso with a mention of the museum quality framing. Frame measures 26 3/4 x 31 1/2 inches.

For those not familiar with the artist, his biography from a gallery that sells the artist's work reads: "Raoul Varin ( 1865-1943 ) was a French engraver known for his various detailed views of Chicago and New York in the 1920' and 1930's. These historical etchings were published by A. Ackerman & Son out of New York, Chicago and Paris. The Chicago Historical Society houses a large collection of Varin's work." See less
