This amazing vase is without a blemish. The very light crackle on the glaze is due to artist process, and age. There is no glaze loss at all. It is not considered a flaw in these pieces, and the colors are vibrant and true.
The vase measures 4.5" base, 5" mouth, stands 9" tall and approx. 8" at the widest mark. It is stamped on the bottom: KERAMIOS HALANDRI with a sketch of a Stag, facing to the right in a grazing stance, within a double oval.
A well-known auction house said it was late 19th century, but upon further research, I believe it to be later, mid-20th post-war, from a small workshop in the artisan community of Halandri, a small area in Athens, Greece. In any case, it is a very fine unique piece, for the discerning collector. less
