  • "Interesting that the Stanley desks on Wayfair are $1,700-$3,000. I wouldn't assume that all pieces are veneer due to a couple of listings, and "veneer" can also mean a thin layer of wood on top of other solid wood, not particle board. I don't have the paperwork to indicate one way or the other, but the pieces feel solid. Information for those interested, with no pressure to buy. "

  • "Yes, the Stanley website clarifies that their desks are made out of veneer, unfortunately: "A dark coffee colored finish intensifies the visual appeal of the elaborate fancy face veneers exactingly arranged on the Executive Desk top. Lateral file drawers make office ready furnishings as practical as they are stunning. - stanleyfurniture. • "Thank you. Actually, I do believe it may be veneer, rather than solid wood. For example, this Stanley table is veneer: "Cherry cathedral veneer and cherry quarter veneer edgeband with ebony inlay border" wayfair. [ com ]/Fairfax-Coffee-Table-321-15-01-YAS10568.html Similarly, this Stanley desk is made out of veneer: ebth. [ com ] /items/1719001-stanley-furniture-vintage-walnut-veneer-desk Since I am instead looking for solid wood, I fear I must pass. Good luck though! "

  • "CP: It's not solid cherry wood. I believe it is maple, but not sure."

  • "CP: It's solid wood. The maker is Stanley Furniture, which is a trusted maker of wood furniture."

  • "And is this actually solid wood, as you write? The sides actually look like veneer?"

  • "Hello, Is this solid cherry wood? Or cherry stain on some other type of wood? Thanks!"
