A pair of hand turned and carved sculptural wood vessels with live edge raw rims. Handmade by renowned artist Arturo Solano, a 3rd generation Costa Rican woodworker who has been turning precious reclaimed wood into amazing works of art since the early 1950s. Solano designs his own machines for this process that turns old salvaged tree roots and residual wood collected from old farms decades ago. These two vases are d from made of burl wood from a fallen Ron Ron tree. They share similar proportions that include flared petal shaped live edge raw freeform organic lipped rims with a shape that is cynched at the neck and asymetric bulbous lower bodies. They both have flat smooth cut bottoms with a carved signature hallmark that reads: Arturo Solano. The two vases are sold with a complimentary wooden dard wood stained ming style platform that compliments the vases but have no other connection other than looking good together.
