An unusual raised footed majolica serving bowl in the wonderful begonia pattern, this compote is glazed in shades of green from pale celery to deep olive with a hint of pink banding inside the leaves. Texture abounds in the detailed dimensional foliage. The exterior is spatter glazed. Late 19th century, English. No marks. Good antique condition with light wear and typical artisanal irregularities to the surface and glazes. Suitable for use or display, hand wash.
