Rare hand colored 19th century etching. From the book “The Beauties of Moore” ballads and songs written by Sir Thomas Moore. This particular image, The Vesper Hymn, was engraved by W. Holl and printed by JG Middleton. The balled is not printed in it’s entirety.
The very elegant “beauty” is playing a small harp instrument wearing a sheer white and lavender gown and a crown of green laurel leaves.
The engraving has been recently professionally framed in a vintage gilded 15”x12.5” wood frame, new matting, backing and fittings. It is in excellent condition all around, free of foxing, fading or creases.
